The UCI Para-Cycling Road World Cup 2018 will take place from 6 - 8 July 2018 in Emmen! 

From 30 June until 2 July 2017 the UCI Para-Cycling Road World Cup took place in Emmen. Over 300 riders from 30 different countries participated in this event. Enjoy our highlight show! 

The Para-Cycling on the road competitions comprise four classes of handicaps:blind and visually impaired, cerebral palsy, locomotor handicaps and handcyclists.
They compete in classes and divisions depending of the type of bicycle they use:
- C - Cyclist: regular bike
- H - Handbike
- B - Blind: tandem
- T - Tricycle

Riders are placed in the appropriate classes and divisions according to their functional capacity, which is assessed during a medical examination.




Great first edition Healthy Ageing Tour Para-cycling 4/9/2018

Superb race and nice winners

The Healthy Ageing Tour Para-cycling 2018 has been a great success. It was the first time that Para-cycling was part of the event, that also includes a race for elite women and junior-women and is organized since 2011. The race existed of a time-trial and two stages through Friesland and Groningen, two provinces in the north of The Netherlands.

New Para-cycling event in The Netherlands

This week (4-8 april) The Healthy Aging Tour will take place in Groningen and Friesland. In addition to the elite women and junior women race, Para-cycling has been added to the program of the stage race as third category this year. The race is next to the Para-cycling World Cup, in Emmen in July this year, the second Dutch race on the international calendar of the UCI cycling federation.

Great-Britain tops medal table Para-cycling 2018 3/26/2018

See you in The Netherlands next year!

The British para-cycling team have finished first in the medal table at the UCI Para-cycling World Championships. With eleven gold, four silver and tree bronze medals they did an impressive job at the former Olympic track in Rio de Janeiro. The Netherlands became second, just before the Chinese team. Next year the para-cycling track worlds will take place in The Netherlands.

World’s best Para-cycling athletes will return to Rio de Janeiro this week for the 2018 UCI Para Cycling Track World Championships (March 22-25). Two years after the Paralympic Games in the Brazilian metropole, they will get their change on revenge or new success stories. 

UCI Para-Cycling World Cup from 6-8 July 2018 in Emmen 12/20/2017

From Friday 6 July to Sunday 8 July 2018, the World Cup for cyclists with for athletes with a disability, also known as para-cycling, is organized in Emmen. Last year this World Cup event was organized for the first time in Emmen. These World Cup competitions are the prelude to the world championships para-cycling that will take place in Emmen in 2019. The World Championships are organized in the pre-paralympic year and therefore the event is the most important qualification opportunity for the Paralympic Games in Tokyo in 2020.

Bike Region Label awarded to bike region Drenthe





The city of Emmen (the Netherlands) will be the battleground for some serious racing. Emmen is located in the province of Drenthe, that was awarded as the first UCI Bike Region in 2017. A great location to organize the UCI Para-Cycling Road World Cup!
Depending on their discipline contestants are facing a track of 2.2 km, (Team Relay), 7.1 km (Road Race) or 8.6 km (Time Trial).
